    Engineering Manager - Full Time

  • Overall departmental responsibility for the design, development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects.
  • Interface with customers to develop project specifications/requirements
  • Research, develop, and design products and systems for military and commercial applications
  • Lead cross functional teams through the design and development process and take project or program management role to see development efforts through from concept or idea to execution in a fast-paced production environment
  • Create project budgets and track with internal team members expenditures and CAPEX spend on projects throughout the process
  • Draw up scope of work documentation and aid in vendor management/vendor relations for new technical projects. This involves vetting vendors technically through start of work to project completion into a production state. Work in close partnership with our purchasing team to execute the tasks
  • Direct and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical/electromechanical products and systems
  • Manage projects from concept through release including post-delivery support
  • Review and process Engineering Change Requests related to current company products
  • Manage activities and projects of other mechanical engineers and technical team members
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and quality in support of the customer requirements and inquiries
  • Provide design of products or systems in accordance with engineering design standards and customer specifications
  • Provide all engineering documentation related to the design of products/systems such as design spreadsheets, bill of materials, and drawings
  • Provide appropriate documentation and support to ensure that manufacturing and operational testing conform to functional specifications, customer requirements, and applicable codes
  • Review products prior to delivery to confirm they are designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable standards and customer specifications
  • Provide technical support for fielded equipment and for in-house stakeholders to perform root-cause analysis and find solutions to problems at hand
  • Provide support for generating technical information for sales/marketing literature
  • Develop presentation information and support customer demonstrations and tradeshows
  • Develop and maintain engineering department standards (such as configuration management standards) and provide an environment for continuous engineering department improvement.
  • BS Degree from four-year college or university in Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in project management, engineering team management, or similar
  • Experience in managing a cross function technical team
  • Experience in building a technical team to work on research and development efforts
  • Experience working in an ISO certified or Manufacturing environment strongly desired
  • Military and commercial product engineering experience is highly desirable
  • SolidWorks CAD software experience and FEA analysis desired
  • Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Injection molding (plastic and rubber) and over molding experience is a plus
