    Finite Element Analysis Engineer - Full Time

Reports to: VP of Engineering

Department: Engineering

  • Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Finite Element Analysis Engineer is responsible for structural and non-liner rubber finite element analysis (FEA). Position requires highly motivated individual with solid technical knowledge and strong communication skills to work closely with design and testing teams in product development and customization.
  • Produce robust product designs using tools of CAD/CAE & company design standards.
  • Responsible to insure part meets all customer and internal design requirements.
  • Translate actual problem to FEA model, perform iterative studies, and guide to best solution. Interpret FEA results and convert them to design suggestions that will guide product development teams
  • Use FEA to investigate opportunities in reducing cost & limit required testing
  • Correlate FEA model with field observations and/or lab results
  • Support and interact with customer engineering to identify innovative solutions for existing problems.
  • Support development engineers in preparing and presenting FEA results to customers.
  • Follow Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor degree in technical field preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in non-linear implicit and explicit rubber and other elastomer FEA is preferable.
  • Experience in stiffness and durability calculations using Marc-Mentat. MSC software is big pulse.
  • Experience in CAE simulation with MSC Adams is desired but not compulsory.
  • Understanding of Hyper-Elastic and Visco-Elastic material properties is preferable.
  • Design experience with NVH Rubber Solutions for automotive industry highly desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical vibrations and acoustics are preferable.
